Responsibilities

  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft, review, and negotiate contracts, including service agreements, purchase orders, non-disclosure agreements, and other legal documents. Ensure that terms and conditions are clear, enforceable, and aligned with company policies.
  • Compliance Management: Ensure that all contracts comply with relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. Monitor and enforce compliance with contract terms and conditions.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks associated with contracts. Provide recommendations to minimize risk exposure and protect the company's interests.
  • Contract Administration: Manage the entire contract lifecycle, including initiation, execution, amendment, renewal, and closeout. Maintain accurate and organized records of all contract-related documents.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal departments (e.g., legal, procurement, finance, project management) and external parties (e.g., clients, suppliers, subcontractors) to facilitate contract execution and resolve any issues that arise.
  • Performance Monitoring: Monitor contract performance and compliance. Track key contract milestones and deliverables. Address any deviations from contract terms and work with stakeholders to implement corrective actions.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Prepare and present regular reports on contract status, performance, and compliance. Maintain comprehensive documentation of all contract-related activities.
  • Process Improvement: Continuously evaluate and improve contract management processes and systems. Implement best practices to enhance efficiency, accuracy, and compliance.
  • Dispute Resolution: Handle contract disputes and claims. Work with legal counsel and relevant stakeholders to resolve issues and negotiate settlements.
  • Training and Mentorship: Provide training and guidance to junior contracts administrators and other staff involved in contract management. Foster a culture of continuous learning and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Experience in contracts administration and working for mining/ construction projects.
  • A practical background with sound contracting knowledge in either the mining, construction or building industry.
  • Experience with dealing with Government/large resource companies would be beneficial.
  • Experience with FIDIC is beneficial.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in either engineering, quantity surveying or law are preferable.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Work and Microsoft Excel. Microsoft Project would be advantageous.
  • Self-motivated with the ability to work under pressure and autonomously.
  • High level written skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Involved in the process of identifying and raising potential risks or issues.
  • Manage and build strong internal and external stakeholder relationships.
